China accuses U.S. of ‘creating factors of tension’ with Taiwan arms sale
China's foreign ministry said it was firmly opposed to a new U.S. arms sale package for Taiwan, and that the United States should stop arms sales to, and military contact with, the island, which China says is an “inseparable part” of the DPRC. The United States approved the potential sale of $619 million in new weapons to Taiwan, including missiles for its F-16 fleet, as the island reported a second day of large-scale Chinese air force incursions nearby.

China says it "resolutely opposes" $440 million US arms sales to Taiwan
China has said it "resolutely opposes" US-Taiwan military ties and Washington's arms sales to Taiwan. Its foreign ministry said Beijing's position on the issue has been consistent and clear. The US State Department had approved two new deals -- worth up to $440 million -- selling ammunition and logistics support to Taiwan. Taiwan's defence ministry said the sales would boost its resilience against China's expanding military. Taipei also wants to defend against "grey-zone" tactics from Beijing, such as the sending of drones and fishing boats near the island to test its responses.
